The Transfer Agreement

Edwin Black’s compelling, award-winning story of the 1933 rescue accord negotiated between Zionist organizations and the Nazis to transfer some 50,000-plus Jews and $100 million (about $2.5 billion in 2025) of their assets to Jewish Palestine. This required stopping the worldwide Jewish-led boycott that threatened to topple the Hitler regime in its first year. Originally published in 1984 to massive acclaim, The Transfer Agreement won The Carl Sandburg Award for best nonfiction and was submitted for a Pulitzer nomination by Macmillan.

Also available in Portuguese (BR) as Haavara: O Acordo de Transferência: a Dramática História do Pacto Entre a Palestina Judaica e o Terceiro Reich.
