China Deploys Warships To Middle East

China has deployed six warships, including a guided-missile destroyer, in the Middle East amid escalating tensions in the region.

The news comes as the United States has deployed two carrier strike groups, and prepared to deploy more troops to the region.

The new People’s Liberation Army convoy includes a frigate, a supply ship, and two 052D destroyers, which carry advanced radar and electronic equipment comparable with the US Aegis system and a 64-cell vertical missile launcher — all of which will be stationed in the Middle East as Israel prepares for a ground invasion of Gaza.
